According to the original sales brochure from the late 1960's (see document on-line), this property type was known as 'The Shannon' and is described as a 'chalet type bungalow of compact design providing all modern amenities and is suitable for plots of 48' 0" wide or more". Gosh, how things have changed! The amenities inside are all largely original, but nowadays we would be hauled over the coals for suggesting that they are modern. To bring it into the 21st century you will need to renovate the property throughout, but at least you will have your own choice of kitchen, bathroom and decor. The other thing that has changed from this era is plot size. It would be very difficult these days to buy a brand new house within this price range that has gardens as large as this. It just goes to show that not everything has changed for the best! It is offered for sale for the first time since it was built in 1969 and It is hard to believe that you are so close to the town centre from here, but as estate agents say, there are 3 important elements to consider when buying a home; location, location and location! To many, properties in this area are deemed to be ‘highly desirable', especially due to their (relatively) close proximity to Sainsburys supermarket (bottom of the hill) and the town centre. Hill Valley hotel with golf course and spa/leisure club is also within easy striking distance, also located off Tarporley Road. The bus stop on The Grove provides a limited service into the town.
